Sexy Sharks
Asexual:
Reproduction is necessary for the survival of the species, All living organisms do it in order to continue their species. When an organisms offspring is fertile the species does not continue then reproduction is useless. There are two types of reproduction, asexual and sexual. Asexual reproduction is done by plants and few animals. In asexual reproduction there is no haploid cells that are made in meiosis. Instead diploid cells are formed in mitosis and full cells are made. Types of asexual reproduction include: Binary fission by bacteria, Budding which is when an offspring grows off the parents and falls off bedoming its own organism, Fragmentation which is when a piece of the organism is removed or falls off and then grows to be its own organism, and finally, vegetative propagation which is the process of roots growing from a strawberry plant, and other plants, growing under grown to the side where it becomes its own plant.
Sexual:
The second type of reproduction is sexual reproduction. This involves physical contact and haploid cells which have half the chromosomes that the organism needs. Haploid cells are sperm and eggs which combines make the full set of chromosomes and an embryo is formed. The process to make haploid cells is called meiosis. The sperm is stored in the males epiglottis and the eggs are stored in the female in the ovary's. Once a moth an egg is released into the female and if not fertilized the corpus luteum dies, known as the menstrual cycle for females.
Shark reproduction:
The main difference between sharks and humans reproduction is the male sharks have two claspers which hold sperm and they alternate which one they use depending on which is more convenient. They are located on their sides of their lower back and because they have claspers, there is no penis. Like humans male sharks have a seminal vertical which produces the sperm and the testis move to keep the sperm at a cool temperature. The female has a uterus for embryos to grow. In the cloaca pee and federalization occur. The yolk sac, found in the females, contains a yolk for the embryo that feeds it at first. The ovary is where their eggs are made and in the fallopian tube they are fertilized by sperm.
